Office Bearers

The association has a dedicated Executive Director who oversees and manages all day to day activities and is responsible for facilitating and co-coordinating the administrative functions, special interest working groups and general running of the association.

Executive Director – Rick Ralph
Is an independent waste management and recycling specialist with more than 27 years Australian and international experience.

Rick started his career in the industry in 1981 with Comalco Aluminium Ltd. For more than 13 years he held numerous senior management roles, responsible for the implementation, development and management of the companies “Cash for Can’s “program. In 1983 he introduced with 2 other Industry colleagues, Australia’s first kerb side recycling program and was instrumental in establishing major public event, and other commercial and community based recycling programs throughout Australia. He has worked on similar programs in New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya. He has owned and operated his own materials recycling facility and general recycling business. Other career roles have included Director of Waste - City of Brisbane, General Manager - Keep Australia Beautiful Council - Queensland and General Manager for Operations and Community Liaison at Australia's first "Alternate Waste Treatment" plant in Wollongong NSW.

He is a founding Council member, past executive committee member and President of the Australian Council of Recyclers, Australia’s peak recycling and secondary resource Council, and has held numerous other executive roles on many other National and International Waste and Recycling Industry boards. He was instrumental with the founding Executive in the formation of WCRAQ in April 2007.
